- TREASURER’S REPORT: reported by Young-sil Lee on behalf of Keum-sook Hahn
- As of June 30, 2007 the balance was $3845.51.
- Membership fee is still $30.00 per calendar year.
- LIBRARY USERS’ GUIDE
- Thanks to Ja-Eun Ku (UCLA), the web-version is posted on KALIPA homepage.
- Korean Cultural Center and USC section are to be updated.
- Dave Won (LAPL, Int’l Languages Dept.) to work on Desktop Publishing for paper version.
- Aim for paper version in time for KALIPA program “How to Set-up Church Library”.
- PROGRAM: How to set up a church library
- Will need more time to fine-tuning the program. Better to postpone until next spring.
- User need assessment survey will go out to churches in Los Angeles area by fall.
- Anyone with ideas in survey questions, contact Young-sil Lee or Song-Gyong Kim.
- Survey will be conducted by Young-sil Lee, Song-Gyong Kim, and Kyong-hyon Cho (Fuller Seminary).
- PIO PICO KOREATOWN BRANCH FRIENDS’ GROUP FUNDRAISING
- LAPL’s Pio Pico Koreatown Branch Friends’ Group will host a Fundraising dinner on Friday, August 3rd at 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Branch to celebrate 5th year anniversary of re-opening of the branch at its current location.
- Individual level donation is $50.00. Anyone interested, contact the Branch Manager Miki Lim.
- KALIPA will participate at individual level and help in Branch Tour starting at 6:15.
- NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENT
- Richard Kong (Thousand Oaks PL) will return to Chicago. His last day will be at the end of this month. Well wish for his new journey.
- USC’s Korean Heritage Library is moving back to Doheny Library’s main floor where the Periodical Room used to be.
- Ja-Eun Ku (UCLA) received FRFD Scholarship ($1,000) from LAMA (Library Administration and Management Association), a division of ALA (American Library Association).
- Ki-Suk Pak (Orange County, Irvine Branch) became half-time from full-time Reference Librarian and Young-gi Sin transferred to Irvine Branch to take up the remaining half-time position.
