HOW TO APPLY
Please enclose the following items in your application package:
- Complete Application Form(MS word : PDF : Web)
- One page essay on the following topic:What contributions can I make as a Korean-American librarian to the profession and the community?
- Copy of letter of acceptance to an ALA accredited library school.
- Names of two references with their contact information
Scholarship applications and all supporting documents all together, should be submitted to the KALIPA Scholarship Committee Chair via e-mail only, and must be received by March 31, 2009.
SELECTION PROCEDURE AND TIMELINE
The KALIPA Scholarship Committee will select the scholarship recipient(s).
- The Scholarship Committee Chair will receive the completed Application Packages by March 31, 2009
- Copies of the application packages will be distributed to the Committee member by April 11, 2009.
- The Scholarship Committee members will review the applications and submit recommendations for scholarship recipients to the Committee Chair by April 30, 2009.
- The Committee will select final candidate(s) by May 9, 2009. The Committee Chair will notify the final candidate(s).
- The scholarship check will be distributed to the recipient by August 31, 2009.
Proof of enrollment for the Fall semester in an accredited library science program must be provided to the Scholarship Committee before check is distributed to the recipient.
ADMINISTRATIVE
- Two $500 scholarships will be awarded.
- In the event that no applicants satisfy the above-mentioned criteria and factors in a given year, no scholarship will be awarded.
